Brandenburger Tor, Berlin

We did a lot on this day, which means I have hundreds of images, so I've split it up into several posts.  Here are the photos of the area around the Brandenburger Tor (Brandengurg Gate).

The first image was taken at night on a previous day, when I went to Checkpoint Charlie by car.

This group of photos was taken a few days ago on a gorgeous sunny day:

The rest of the images were taken today on foot. An outdoor restaurant was doing a brisk business despite the chilly weather.

The Brandenburger Tor can be seen in the distance.  The police cars and barricades were everywhere on this day due to a NATO conference taking place - many areas were closed off.

In the distance you can see the Reichstag building with its glass dome on top.  I did not get to tour this building because we waited too long to get a reservation - next time I will do it.
