Today our school had a barbecue party in the garden. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, and the company excellent.
Our school's gardener/maintenance guy/jack-of-all-trades made a temporary churrascaria (barbecue pit) just for the day and took charge of the grilling. He did a superb job.
Pineapple, pork ribs, chicken hearts, and beef ribs.
While there are certain foods and especially fruits that are typically Brazilian, the food here in the south of Brazil is really not so different from the food back home.
Beggars will beg... the cats got some juicy tidbits.
A very unflattering picture of everyone eating the last of their ice cream cones.
We also had a "secret friend" gift exchange. In Brazil the giver stands up with the gift and gives hints about his or her secret friend until everyone guesses correctly who the recipient is.
