... don't know when I'll be back again.
I leave for Brazil tonight at 1:58AM (technically tomorrow). Beside me are two suitcases and my entire wardrobe on the bed. I am mostly packed, just rearranging things for the hundredth time.
Last week I finally got the crown put on that tooth that has been troubling me since China, yay! On Monday and today I had mammograms and a sonogram and all is clear. I have completed my inoculations. I am READY!
The school has hired a taxi service to pick me up at the Porto Alegre airport for the hour's drive back to Santa Cruz do Sul. The owner usually does the airport pickups in person, but he will be out of the country this week. The driver will wait for me, but if the flight has been delayed more than a couple of hours or canceled, apparently he will leave and I'll have to get there on my own. I really hope my flights are on time! (fingers crossed)
This past week I attended two Capoeira lessons and two Afro-Brazilian dance lessons and I'm feeling quite fired up (and so are my muscles, ow). Luckily for me, there were some other beginners in the Capoeira classes so I was able to participate fully. I am excited about the possibility of playing Capoeira in its native land.
Brazil, here I come!
