Starry Night

16 February 2012

The stars are incredible here because the night sky has very little "light pollution".  Directly overhead is the Milky Way, so many stars I can hardly recognize the constellations that I know.  A large part of the sky here is not visible in the Northern Hemisphere so is not familiar to me.  Orion, however, is always visible.

I set up my little plastic tripod in the garden and was pleased to discover that my little point-and-shoot camera can take some pretty decent pictures!  You can click on a photo to get a larger view.
