Tiergarten and Großer Stern, Berlin

18 April 2011

The Tiergarten is a very large park in central Berlin, reminiscent of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.  At one end of it is the Brandenburger Tor, and the other end is the Großer Stern, a large roundabout intersection with five points and hence called "great star".

In the distance you can see the Siegessäule, or victory column monument.
Views around the Großer Stern and Siegessäule.

On many of the surfaces nearby you can find scars from WW2 bullets - there is one just to the left of my hand in this photo.
